Homework problems will be scored on a (0-1) scale, correct or incorrect. At the end, the homework score will be a percentage of 100% correct. Solutions to homework problems will be provided when homework turned in. For that reason, no late homework will be accepted. Examination 1 will have five problems, of which you can choose three. Examination 2 will have 10 problems, of which you can choose seven. All examination problems count equally. Examination problems will be similar to homework problems.

The tentative grade distribution is provided below. I emphasize this is tentative and that the percentages of high grades (A through B) are the minimum I expect to assign. If the class does well, I would enjoy assigning a greater percentage of high grades.

make up laboratories

  • You can miss one laboratory without any excuse and still complete the course.
  • If two or more laboratories are missed and not made up,
you will receive an incomplete on the course.
  • If you miss any laboratory, you receive a zero on that laboratory score
