Seeking Truth, Living with Doubt: The Intersection of Science and Religion
Investigate the overlap between faith and reason with author and UW professor of physics, Marshall Onellion.
This new, six-week course looks at how to integrate religious and rational beliefs. Using the instructor’s text, it combines science, the arts and religion to cover several thought-provoking topics, such as evolution, cosmology, molecular biology and 21st century problems involving technology. Through readings and discussion, you’ll consider these topics and also explore whether the conflict between modernity and fundamentalism transcends mere religious differences.
This six-week course begins on Monday, March 3, 2008. There will be no class on March 17, the week of UW-Madison’s spring break.
The fee is $105 per person and includes a signed copy of Seeking Truth: Living with Doubt. Members of WAA and UW OLLI may participate at a discounted rate of $95 per person.
