UW Physics Lecture Demonstrations
There are three ways to browse demonstrations.
1. Browse by Subject
We are in the process of classifying them according to the PIRA classification scheme.
As descriptions become available the links below will become active:
Mechanics |
Fluid Mechanics |
Waves/Oscillations/Sound |
Thermodynamics |
Optics |
Modern Physics |
|
Note: A number of other universities also use the PIRA scheme, so you may be able to find more detail about a particular demonstration by typing the demonstration name and the first part of the PIRA number into a search engine, eg "Cottrell Precipitator 5B30".
2. Browse by Course
Several courses have developed canonical demonstration lists:
3. Browse by Storage Location
Physics demonstrations are stored in 2237 Chamberlin (see map below).
Note there is some overlap, eg some Electricity & Magnetism demonstrations are stored in the Electrostatics Cabinet.
