Introduction at the non-calculus level. Not recommended for students in the physical sciences and engineering. Principles of mechanics, heat, and sound, with applications to a number of different fields. Two lectures, two discussion sections and one two-hour lab per week.
Class Notes: 
MIDTERM EXAMS: 5:45-7:00pm, Tues., Feb. 13th, Tues., March 13th, Tues., April 17th. Students will use Mastering Physics for this course and DO NOT need to buy a print version. Mastering Physics will be accessible via the Canvas course site and will cost $41.77 (compared to the list print price: $140.55). The fee will be billed via the Bursar's Office. Completion of QR-A. High school algebra, geometry and some trig; Not open to those who have taken Physics 201, 207, or 247; Open to Freshman. Recommended for students who do not need a calculus level course; Not recommended for students in the physical sciences and engineering
