L.R Ingersoll Physics Museum

The UW Physics Department welcomes you to the L.R. Ingersoll Museum!

 

Established in 1918, our museum is open to all visitors from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

The L.R. Ingersoll Museum is a free public venue and runs on donations. Our exhibits give you a "hands-on" experience of physical concepts ranging from mechanics to modern physics in a demonstrational kid-friendly environment. In conjunction to our museum, you will find historical instruments and photos of the Nobel Prize Winners in Physics from 1901-1993 on display along the corridors.

 

No reservation is required to visit, however we do schedule guided tours For general information and scheduling a tour;

The physics museum is located on the University of Wisconsin - Madison campus in Chamberlin Hall, at 1150 University Avenue.
