Interfacing cold atoms and superconductors
Date: Friday, November 4th
Time: 11:00 am
Place: 5310 Chamberlin
Speaker: Dr. József Fortágh, Universität Tübingen
Abstract: Interfacing ultra-cold atoms and solids promises novel quantum interfaces
where electronic, magnetic or
mechanical degrees of freedoms are transferred from one system to the
other while preserving the quantum nature. I present experimental results
on the coherent manipulation of atomic clouds on a superconducting chip
and discuss perspectives for coupling Rydberg atoms to superconducting
circuits.
