DESCRIPTION:There are quite a few myths and misunderstandings about Galileo's scientific career\, many of them commonly propagated by scientists in the classroom. This historical talk will endeavor to examine and correct some common myths about Galileo and to highlight some of the lessons that we should take away from the events of his tumultuous life.
