- Abstract: Recently, a wide range of two-dimensional multilayer systems have attracted significant experimental and theoretical attention. Novel experimental techniques have enabled new approaches to engineer and probe highly tunable quantum matter that was previously inaccessible. Furthermore, the emergence of correlated insulators, quantum crystals, and exotic superconductors in layered materials underscores the central role of strong correlations in modern condensed matter physics. In this talk, I will first discuss Coulomb drag in strongly correlated electron bilayers, studied within the framework of electron hydrodynamics. I will then present results on Wigner crystals in two-dimensional systems, with a focus on the magnetism of bilayer Wigner crystals and the role of quantum geometry in the formation of paired Wigner crystalline states.
