SUMMARY:Neutron beta-decay with Ultra-Cold Neutrons\, NPAC (Nuclear/Pa
 rticle/Astro/Cosmo) Forum\, Brad Filippone\, Caltech
DESCRIPTION:Ultra-Cold Neutrons - UCN - (E < 350 neV) can be trapped i
n material bottles and with magnetic fields. The UCNA collaboration ha
s recently measured the beta-decay electron distribution from polarize
d neutron decay for the first time using UCN. The use of UCN suppresse
s a variety of systematic experimental effects compared to previous ex
periments using cold neutron beams. This allows for precision measurem
ents of some Standard Model electroweak observables as well as searche
s for new physics. Results from this new experiment will be discussed
along with prospects for future measurements. <br>
\n
