SUMMARY:Electronic\, spin and transport properties of a triple quantum
  dot molecule\, R. G. Herb Condensed Matter Seminar\, Yun-Pil Shim
DESCRIPTION:I will present a theory of lateral triple quantum dot syst
em in a triangular geometry. In this setting\, the strong Coulomb inte
raction and the quantum interference effects play important roles in
determining the electronic and spin properties. Configuration-interact
ion method is used to obtain the many-electron eigenstates and the eff
ects of magnetic field will be explained. It will be shown that this s
ystem can be used to realize localized spins with tunable interaction
s by using purely electrical methods. Transport through this system wi
ll be discussed in a simple framework based on rate equations.
