SUMMARY:Extending the Higgs Effective Theory\, Theory/Phenomenology Se
minar\, Duff Neill\, Carnegie Mellon University
DESCRIPTION:For the LHC and Tevatron the Higgs Effective Theory from i
ntegrating out
\nthe top quark has done a remarkable job with only
the leading operator HFF
\nas the basis for calculating the higgs
production rates. But for certain
\nobservables the effective ope
rator approximation can begin to break down.
\nEither one can just
calculate in the full theory\, or extend the effective
\ntheory w
ith higher dimensional operators. I will give reasons for pursuing
\nthe latter course\, and results using this extended effective theor
y for
\ncalculating the higgs' pt spectrum.
