SUMMARY:A New High-Sensitivity Search for Muon-to-Electron Conversion
 at Fermilab\, High Energy Seminar\, Dr. Robert Bernstein\, FNAL\, Mu2e
  Co-Spokesperson
DESCRIPTION:The Mu2e collaboration will search for coherent\, neutrino
 -less conversion <br>
\nof muons into electrons in the field of a nucl
 eus with a sensitivity <br>
\nimprovement of approximately 10\,000 ove
 r existing limits. Such a lepton <br>
\nflavor-violating reaction prob
es new physics at a scale unavailable by <br>
\ndirect searches at eit
her present or planned high energy colliders. The <br>
\nphysics motiv
ation for Mu2e and the design of the muon beamline and <br>
\nspectrom
eter will be presented\, along with a scheme by which the <br>
\nexper
iment can be mounted in the present Fermilab accelerator complex. <br>

\nWe will also examine the prospects for increased sensitivity of as
 much <br>
\nas two orders-of-magnitude at the proposed Fermilab Projec
 t X Linac. <br>
\n
