SUMMARY:Interplay between superconductivity and ferromagnetism at the
 LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface\, R. G. Herb Condensed M
atter Seminar\, Venkat Chandrasekhar\, Northwestern University
DESCRIPTION:The interface between the two band insulators LaAlO3<
/sub> (LAO) and SrTiO3 (STO) has proved to be host to a ric
h variety of phenomena\, including electric field controlled metal-ins
ulator and superconductor-insulator transitions and ferromagnetism. R
ecently\, ferromagnetism and superconductivity\, two normally antagoni
stic phenomena\, have been shown to coexist at the interface. We shal
l discuss the influence of the ferromagnetism on the superconducting p
roperties of the system. In particular\, we show how the magnetizatio
n dynamics in the ferromagnet can be used as a tool to explore the sup
 erconductor to insulator phase transition.
\n
