SUMMARY:Localization of quantum particles and classical waves in disor
dered media (Part II)\, Condensed Matter Theory Group Seminar\, Peter
Wölfle\, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology\, Germany
DESCRIPTION:In the second lecture I review a self-consistent theory of
localization and discuss its recent application to interpret experime
nts on the localization of acoustic waves. The phase relaxation rate i
n electronic systems is also considered\, in particular with respect t
o recent experiments on ferromagnetic disordered metals. Recent experi
ments on the localization of ultracold atoms in an optical random pote
 ntial are reviewed.
