SUMMARY:Falling\, intersecting\, and magnetized flavors in AdS/CFT\, T
heory Seminar (High Energy/Cosmology)\, Paul McGuirk\, Cornell Univers
 ity
DESCRIPTION:The addition of global symmetry groups to strongly coupled
gauge theories realized by AdS/CFT is of both purely theoretical inte
 rest\, as doing extends the gauge/gravity correspondence\, and model-b
uilding interest\, as such groups provide prototypes of bulk Randall-S
undrum models. In the best-understood versions of the correspondence\
, such global symmetries are realized by the addition of D-branes that
extend along the radial direction of anti-de Sitter space. I will di
scuss some recent and forthcoming results on the physics of such brane
 s. In particular\, I will talk about how they respond to sources of s
upersymmetry breaking and how such D-branes can be combined and modifi
ed to introduce bifundemental and chiral fields.
