Discussion Sections
| Your
discussion sections are taught by Graduate Teaching Assistants
who
have a lot of experience with physics. There are two discussion periods
each week and you are expected to attend both. Discussions will be
devoted to reviewing concepts and problem-solving techniques, and answering
your questions about homework and other problems in the text. There will be 5 discussion quizzes this semester, which will be an important component of your discussion grade. Your TA will let you know the quiz schedule and the material covered on each quiz. The main purpose of the discussion is the opportunity to explore some problems in more detail with your TA. The discussions are primarily an opportunity to improve understanding and practice problem solving. With discussion and lab, you will spend at least 5 hours a week with your TA -- you should take advantage of every moment! |
