Olivia Castellini

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

Dr. Castellini earned her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, with Prof. Mark Eriksson. She is a senior exhibit developer at the Museume of Science and Industry in Chicago, where she has translated fundamental science and cutting-edge research into compelling museum experiences on a variety of topics.

Jay Davis

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

Dr. Jay Davis is the immediate past President of the Hertz Foundation, which funds graduate studies in the applied physical sciences and engineering. A nuclear physicist trained at the Universities of Texas (BA 63, MA 64) and Wisconsin (Ph.D. 69), Jay spent over three decades at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories working in support of the fusion program.

Fatima Ebrahimi

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

Dr. Fatima Ebrahimi received a BSc in Physics from the Polytechnic University of Tehran in 1993 and a Ph.D. in Plasma Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003. She is a Principal Research Physicist at the PPPL Theory Department and an Affiliated Research Scholar at the Department of Astrophysical Sciences, Princeton University. Her research interests span from magnetically confined fusion plasmas to flow-driven plasmas, such as accretion disks.

Josh Friess

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

Josh received a B.S. in Physics and Math at UW-Madison, and his Ph.D. from Princeton University, writing his thesis on string-theory inspired models of gold nuclei collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Most recently, Josh has provided consulting services to the not-for-profit sector, and has served as a director of multiple not-for-profit organizations.

Roger Hagengruber

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

Roger Hagengruber is Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) Senior Vice-President Emeritus and also Director Emeritus of the University of New Mexico (UNM) Institute for Public Policy. He has served on the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Threat Reduction Advisory Committee (TRAC), TRAC Science and Technology Panel, and on the DTRA Basic Research Review Committee.

Paul Hatchell

Paul earned his BS (1983: Astronomy-Physics, Math) and PhD (1989: Physics) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, Paul worked as a research physicist for 31 years at various Shell technology centers around the world.

Yung-Lung (Bill) Ho

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

Dr. Yung-Lung Ho is a plasma physicist, a telecom consultant, an electrical engineer, and a photographer. After receiving his training from the Johns Hopkins University in electrical engineering (B.E.S. 81, M.S.E. 82), he redirected his career toward fusion research and received his Ph.D., from the University of Wisconsin – Madison (88).

Greg Jaczko

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

After working in the Senate for Harry Reid, Greg was appointed to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission where he was later appointed by President Obama to become Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2008. Greg holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1999.

Robert (Bob) K. Leach

Position title: Emeritus Board of Visitors Member

Dr. Robert (Bob) K. Leach completed his Ph.D. in low temperature physics in 1972 under the direction of Professors Paul Moran and William Fitzsimmons. He held a number of research positions over thirty years in the Minneapolis MN area at Honeywell and Alliant Techsystems, then finished his career with 11 years at SAIC.

Dr. Katerina Moloni received her Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Minnesota in 1995. After completing postdoctoral appointments at Purdue University and UW–Madison, she joined nPoint in 1999 as a senior scientist. She oversaw nPoint’s transition to new global markets for nanopositioning technology and was responsible for product development and sales. She joined UW–Madison in December 2022 as the Associate Director of MSPQC and WQI.
